Out of the Box #11
A short one this round. (Ha! Ha! You funny, Dr. Jones!). No links either. Between NaNoWriMo and the job, time's squeezed. I'd be farther along but every night this past week I've passed out at the keyboard.

But first, a couple of links of interest (thanks, Mary Anne). "Muggle quidditch, anyone? For those interested, there's a tournament at the University of Alabama next Sunday. No word if the winning coach will receive a statue among those of the national championship winning football coaches, but I doubt it. It's difficult to imagine Coach Bryant sharing a space with someone who played with quaffles and bludgers.
Now this: "Henry5 makes Shakespeare Sci-Fi." is almost what I'm talking about. There've been several attempted remakes of the classic Forbidden Planet, all of which have so far died or been stuck in Development Hell. Right where they belong, to my mind. FP is a classic (did I mention that?) and was done right the first time. As FP was based on The Tempest, if a continuation had to be done, I've long thought the way to go would be to follow the original and adapt another of the Bard's plays. Titus Andronicus has long been my joking example, but Henry V would be an excellent choice. I'm looking forward to seeing how this effort plays out.
And now the list:
